Aaron Palmieri, Science and Education Manager for the Palmetto Bluff Conservancy

Our featured speaker will be Aaron Palmieri, who will speak about our dearest and most feared neighbors, alligators. Admit it, I am sure you have named more than one. Aaron is the Science and Education Manager for the Palmetto Bluff Conservancy, where he began in 2012 as an intern. He earned his bachelor’s degree in Fisheries & Wildlife Sciences from Oregon State University and is driven by his passion for educating people about the local flora and fauna. 

American alligators have been a part of the Lowcountry landscape since before the first humans stepped foot on the continent. As the number of people moving into alligators’ habitat increases, so do the chances of encountering them. During this presentation, we will learn about the life history of alligators and how to coexist alongside them.
